Praise the Lord for a great weekend celebrating life here in Niles, Michigan! From the Home Run Derby at Thomas Memorial Stadium to the Life Walk at Riverfront Park and the Tournament for Life at Plym Park, God’s Name was praised and His message of life was declared in a mighty way! We are thankful for all that occurred at Life Walk 2017. Here are a few of the highlights.
The Life Walk began with a program that included testimonies and prayers. Those who attended were reminded of the incredible grace of God and the way God can take any situation and use it for His glory. (Note: All the testimonies from the morning can be viewed on our facebook page. If you missed out on the program, be sure to watch those testimonies. You will be glad you did!)
The program closed with a time of prayer led by two local pastors. At the conclusion of the program, those who attended walked down Main Street to the Pregnancy Care Center and back. Some people gathered in groups to pray for the PCC and the community during this time. When everyone returned to the park, there was a celebration with food, inflatables, carnival games, face painting, horses, and more. It was great time for the whole family – and a way to show the community the love of Jesus Christ.
We want to always improve everything we do. If you attended Life Walk 2017, would you please take our survey to help us improve on this event? Thank you!
Battle Under the Lights
Thomas Memorial Stadium in Niles was the setting for the Home Run Derby on Friday night. Congratulations to the winners – Kyle Daisy of Lakeshore and Wyatt Thornton of Niles.
Tournament for Life
A co-ed softball tournament also took place on Saturday at Plym Park in Niles. Team H.Y.P.E. won the tournament. Special thanks to Michiana Christian Embassy and Zechariah Pegura for organizing both the tournament and the Home Run Derby!
The Life Walk weekend is designed to raise funds to help the Pregnancy Care Center continue to carry on its mission in Michiana. We are extremely grateful for all who gave and for all who raised funds. We had three walkers who raised over $1,000 – The Shier family raised $2,000, Eliza McGinn raised $1640.05, and Kara Theriault raised $1080!
However, only 28% of our goal was reached. Our fundraising website is allowing us to keep our page open for awhile longer. Would you please consider donating through this page or directly to us to help us get closer to our goal? Click on the link and choose a walker – all money you give under that walker’s name will come back to the PCC. On behalf of the clients, babies, staff, and volunteers at the Pregnancy Care Center, Thank You!
