Hero Run FAQ’s

When can I register for the Hero Run?
Online registration is open now until April 11. And, if you are unable to register by April 11th, you can register the morning of the race beginning at 8:00 am. The entry fee will go up after the 11th, however, so register early to save money!

How do I get my race packet?

Race packets will be available Friday, April 13, from 12:00-7:00 at Fleet Feet in Mishawaka,  and then again on Saturday morning at Riverfront Park in Niles starting at 8:00 am. Fleet Feet is also hosting a fundraising day for the Pregnancy Care Center on April 13. This means that 10% of all sales at the store that day will be donated to the Center!

How should I dress for the Hero Run?

That is completely up to you! You can come to the race dressed as your favorite superhero, or you can come just as you are.

Will there be any prizes awarded?

Yes! There will be prizes for the top finishers as well as prizes for the best superhero costumes.

What time should I be there on Saturday?

If you aren’t able to pick up your race packet at Fleet Feet on Friday, you need to give yourself enough time on Saturday to pick up your packet and get ready for the race before the runners’ meeting at 8:45 am. If you are able to get your packet on Friday, however, you need to make sure you are at the Runners’ Meeting all ready to start the race at 8:45 am. Packet Pick-up and Race Day Registration will open at 8:00 am on Saturday, the 10K will begin at 9:00am and the 5K Run/Walk will begin at 9:10am.

Will there be an awards ceremony after the race?

Yes! We will begin the awards ceremony as soon as we can after the conclusion of the race. At this time we will acknowledge our sponsors and give out all the awards. We will also be posting the race results as they come in, so, even if you don’t win an award, you will be able to find out your official time.

Will there be snacks and drinks available during and after the race?

Yes! There will be one water station on the route of the 5K and two on the 10K route. There will also be snacks available to all participants after the race.

I am not planning on running the race, but I would like to volunteer to help. What should I do?

We have several volunteer positions that we need to fill before April 14th. If you want to fill one of these positions, call the Pregnancy Care Center at (269) 684-6200 or email Cheri at CheriG@PCCNiles.org.

How do I make a donation to the Pregnancy Care Center?

If you would like to make a monetary donation to the Pregnancy Care Center, you can do that from here. We appreciate every donation we receive, as all money raised from the Hero Run will help us minister to people in the Michiana area.

If you have any other questions about the Hero Run or the Pregnancy Care Center, please call (269) 684-6200 or email CheriG@PCCNILES.org.

There will be prizes awarded for the overall male and female with the fastest time and the top 3 in each age category. There will also be a prize for the best super hero costume. Both race events start and end at the beautiful Riverfront Amphitheater. The 10K will take you around Plym Park, through downtown Niles, and south along the scenic St. Joseph River onto Bond Street. It finishes on the trail along the river. The 5K is an abbreviated version of the 10K. Both have a hill after the first mile that’s a reminder that it’s never easy being a hero – but it’s worth the challenge.
